i found an ad on craigslist for a lock right locker that was in an 8.8 mustang rear end. guy wanted 150 bucks and it was in a carrier already. i drove 100 miles to go pick it up. he didnt lke the clicking so he went with a true trac. i didnt notice till i got home but i had this!!! a no slip locker that usually runs almost 600 bucks! guy put about 3k on it before switching to true track. oh i passed by someone in pittsfield ma with a 98-2001 green extended cab that had a trs banner on the windshield. dont know who it was but i saw you!

That looks like it's for an LS carrier... And FWIW, I'd rather have the Lock-Right, I DD a No-Slip and hate it more and more every day.

why do you hate it? everyone i know of that has a no slip loves them.

oh darn your right. i took the guys word for it since he said he installed it himself. it is a limited slip carrier. so i have 2 options 1 i can install the carrier he gave me or 2 i can head to the junkyard and pull a rear end for 50 bucks plus tax. if i used the same ring and pinion would i have to set the backlash still? or is that only necessary for new gears.

Your keys look exactly like mine do. That's kinda cool how it seems yours have the same number of rings, same exact carabiner clip, and same ignition key.

The only difference is that I have a Samuel Adams bottle opener attached to mine.

Because it allows the inside tire to spin at a certain speed before locking. IMO a proper locker shouldn't allow the inside tire to spin without locking, it's very annoying and wears tires faster than just scrubbing tires from a locked locker. Most people disagree with me. FWIW my buddy (forum member Grunizzle) also had a No-Slip in his ranger, same behavior, he now has a Detroit and likes it much better. I've had a Lock-Right before and currently have an Aussie in the B2, they both work properly. Either way you certainly got a good deal.

The backlash will need to be checked with the new carrier, pinion depth doesn't change. See what your current blacklash is and match that with the new carrier, it should be close.

goit it in there last night. put my gears on the new carrier and installed it with the original shims. my backlash was 2x the maximum amount with the old carrier and the new carrier was right between the min and max amount. it is a pita to put in the gear oil though. next time ill microwave it or something. i used the right weight but in 40 degree weather it did not want to go through the funnel. havent had much time to test drive it yet. i know it will chirp the tires around corners if i give it any gas. seems like it kicked in whenever i wanted it too. you cant hear it in the cab either.
