I'm thinking of going with 33X12.5" BFG tires but I'm wondering if they will fit on my stock '04 Ranger's 16" wheels. Anyone know? While I've got your attention, any online store that stocks 33X12.5" BFG tires that has good prices? Thanks!

33x12.5x16 BFG on 16" oem '04 Ranger wheels

Shag,
I presumed BFG TKO as you did not specify.
2nd presumption, as you did not specify, is that the OEM wheels are between 7" and 8" wide (interior bead-to-bead).

This information obtained from the ubiquitous TireRack.com:
url: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.jsp?make=BFGoodrich&model=All-Terrain+T/A+KO&tirePageLocQty=

The 33x12.5x16 was not listed, but an equivalent 285/75x16 was.
The approved rim width is 7.5" to 9".

Consider that taller and wider than stock tires may cause clearance issues, especially at full lock, and full stuff, and most probably during simultaneous full-lock & full-stuff situations.

33x12.50 is usually for a 15" rim, at least the ones I've seen. A 285/75-16 is about the same size and will fit with the torsion bars turned up in front 1.5".

a 285/75/16 is a lot narrower than a 33x12.50 (approx 305/70/16). you can put a 33x12.50 on a stock rim (im pretty sure it is a 7'') but i wouldnt reccomend it because it will wear your tires out faster and jsut isnt good for them to be on that narrow of a wheel, it puts more stress on the tire. i would go a 10'' wide wheel for that wide of a tire, at least an 8''. but yes you can put it on a stock wheel. also as far as i know nobody makes a 33x12.50 16, but a 305 70 16 like i said is about the same but that still wont be an easy size to find. a 285 75 16 would be you r best bet IMO

Scooby Doo says: "Huuuuggghhh?"

What did I just say?

(airborn_ranger recommended a 285/75/16 and this member stated) "...a 285/75/16 is a lot narrower than a 33x12.50 (approx 305/70/16)...

If you was to use a nice set of 15" wheels BFG makes a 33x9.50/15 ,I had it checked for clearance on my truck , I dont recall if it was an A/T or M/T,it was back in Dec 07

QUOTE]

that is why i tried to clarify, a 285/75/16 is not equivalent to a 33x12.50, height: yes but width: no
