if you were following my original thread, you know the story. after my original plan to buy a turbo coupe as a drivetrain donor fell through, i found (what i think was) a good deal on this 87. it needs a hand full of work, mostly minor stuff, but is in really good shape for its age. it even game with a trunk full of parts. i plan on boosting it to about 18psi and driving the crap out of it. im sure ill be using the forced induction forum now... :D

Sweet! Looks like a blast.

Pull it and slap it in your Ranger. Sounds like a plan to me.

I thought about it... I was planning on buying a rotted out turbo coupe for dirt cheap and swapping it into a 2wd ranger. Well those plans fell through and I found this. I've already swapped a 4.0 into the ranger so it's fine as it is, and the body on the tbird is clean enough I don't wanna destroy it so I'm driving it as it is. It's a nice car.

Tell me the interior is black and not the green/teal it almost looks in the pics.

Clean looking car, should be fun to drive. Is it a stick or auto trans? Hopefully a stick, the autos seem to be down tuned for the auto sake.

its a manual. the auto's were definitely detuned to try to save the trans. this one isnt making boost like it should be (only about 6 psi if the factory gauge is correct) and im not sure why. part of it may be because the turbo (and entire engine for that matter) was from an automatic car. supposedly there's some orifice in the wastegate actuator that would have been sized differently. the whole boost control system that ford used was a little goofy and i dont think is working at all anyways. i plan on setting it up with a manual boost controller set at about 17-18 psi.
