Either would be good for a Ranger. Which ever you find a deal on first, but it's always nice to have the extra pulling power with a 9500. I'd most likely just go with an 8000 because they usually can be had cheaper.

General rule is 1.5 times your vehicle weight, if you plan on using it, go 2 times, so an 8000 should be plenty.

Check out this vid........it's about 12 minutes long though. Half way through it, they start the comparisons. It amazed me how the high priced Warn did.

I gotta say I was proud of my MileMarker SE9500 several weeks ago. Five pulls in a row & it never overheated or lagged for power;

It pulled in this order......
1 - Jeep Wrangler
2 - GMC Suburban
3 - Toyota Tacoma
4 - Ford Bronco
5 - Jeep Cherokee
