Getting rid of gas....

But the gas pumps at the service station I work at. The owner is expanding the service department and one of the pumps need to go. As a result the owner has decided that we will not be selling gas anymore. After we sell the rest of whats in the underground tanks of course. That also means that our full service is going too. I'm pretty happy about that, I hate full service. Now I can focus on getting cars done without watching for full service customers. Any of you guys know of any full service stations still running? I was just curious as we were pretty much the only one in the area.
 
Yep still have one around here who does.
 
There is one near the NY state line that has full service and no ethanol. Or so I'm told by Kip.
 
We have two in Stillwater. One in Perry. But thats it in a 100 mile radius.
 
Come to NJ where every station is full service. Pay less money per gallon for it too!
 
They still existed? Who knew. Closest I ever got to any form of being served at a station is when I went to Jersey for the first time and an antendant pumped the gas because apparently they are wierd about that up there.

Anyone else feel like going back to the 60's in a time machine when you were treated great at the airport, could carry a piece and smoke a cigar on the plane, your windshield got washed when you pulled up to the service station, and you could buy beautiful cars with V8's so powerful they lied about it's power for legal/insurance reasons?
 
There is one left in the town I want to move to.
 
There is one in my town and at least two in the next town over that I know of. There's also another one I know of a few towns over.

No thanks. Even if that was true, I'd rather pay more to pump my own than let a stranger do it.

Hmm, lung cancer and horrid stenches being forced on me on flights, crappy gas mileage, poor safety features, and strangers pawing all over my vehicle just because I need fuel. I'll pass.
 
In MA they are all over, personally I accidentally pull into a full serve now and then, get out to go fill up gas, and guy walks over like I'm retarded. Which I guess is true but is rather pump my own gas, alot of times they stop at 3/4 because stupid handle slipped and it stopped filling, I'll startup take off, and I'm like wtf...

Maaan, why you gotta shoot holes in my fantasy.

You'd probably catch the cancer from all the asbestos first. The best way to be safe is to not crash, and the best way to deal with the service station pump jockey gettin' touchy can be solved with a stern look and a clearly visible tire iron within arms reach.
 
Oregon pumps for you unless motorcycle.I also believe people are confusing "FULL" service with "MINI" service -with full service they pumped fuel,checked oil,checked air in tires,washed windows and mirrors and only then did they bring your change or the little "courtesy card" signing thing along with your TRADING STAMPS!!!! :shok: Then in the early 70's (and FYI it came BEFORE the 1973 oil embargo cause I spent summers with grand parents and they showed me the new service level and the PLO terrorists were on TV shootin up the olmpic village 1972 MUNICH) minimum or "MINI" service debuted,they would pump the fuel and wash windshield if asked but you had to get out and handle payment.

That's the truth! Cars today right off the showroom for can be 12 sec cars and get twice the mileage and 1/3 the emmisons.
I haven't seen a full service station in 30 years I bet. Sure rather do it myself but need to remember to check the oil more often.
