28 or 31 spline axles

I have a 2003 ranger 3.0 supercab 2wd auto and I was wondering what axles are in my truck 28 or 31 spline? The tag has the following info: top line V3 30L
btm line: 10 88 3D11. The reason I am asking is that I bought a lockright for a 7.5 diff when it turns out I have an 8.8.... oops. Now I still need to know if I have 28 spline, 31 spline 3/4 or 31 spline 7/8 before I order the right one this time.

Check the Tech Library at the top of the page and look in the axle section. I think you have a 28 spline. IIRC the 31 spline 8.8's came in the FX4's and had a L/S.

you should have the 28 spline.

ya it is the 28 splines , if it was the fx4 then it would have 31 splines.

Thanks for the quick response. Now would anyone happen to know if a lockright 1830 for a 7.5 28 spline would by any chance fit a 8.8 28 spline diff?
The part number from lockright is 1820 for the 8.8 28 spline. I am aware that the internals are not the same but what if for some reason the carrier gears that are replaced by the lockright are the same in the 7.5 and 8.8?
