take it off and put a carb pump on it...carbs dont work so well with 40 psi. and dont say youll regulate it down, itll burn the pump up. oh...and the pump runs all the time anyway as soon as you start it. whats an extra 2 seconds gonna do?How do I get the fuel pump on my 89 ranger to run constantly in the run position? Ok so i had it backwards, it grounds threw the computer... even easier to do then. I still say toss a toggle switch or something on one of the inertia switch wires tho.huh??? To keep from burning it up you run a return back to the tank (which is what I did) and the pump does not run all the time.....when you switch the truck on the pump comes on temporarily and then shuts back off......
And if anyone's interested: the run wire (red/green) to the tan/green does NOT make the pump come on.....when I put the tan/green to ground then the pump came on....so I ran a ground wire over the the negative battery from the tan/green going into the relay and the pump runs whenever the key switch is in run........
Thats good. I'm glad to hear your going to. Sorry safety and common sence is a pet peev of mine. It just makes good sence to put a $2 switch on just in case, for whatever reason.no problem man, thanks for the help.......I think I'll put a switch on the ground under the hood so I can cut it off during testing......
