1999 ranger 4x4 light flash 5 times and wont lock into 4x4

well my 4x4 lights are flashing 6 times and it wont lock into 4 wheel high or low im up for any suggestions anyone has thnk you in advance for any help

had that happen once when my front dshaft blew a cv i think its some t case safty thing just disconnect your battery for a few and plug it back in thats what i did and it started going into 4wd again
 
Buy a manual t-case.
 
i would buy a manual t-case but those things arent cheap around here if you can even find one
 
well i dont know what the problem was but it is working fine today thanks for the help and im workin on finding a manual t-case.. thanks again
 
Buy my 98...I already swapped a manual t-case in it.
