i need to know if a 4.0 computer from a 93 will work on a 92 4.0 motor??? does the harness match up??

that depends, you have to actually look at the harnesses, they start crossing to sefi in 93 and then start setting up for obd2 after that.
a truck can be a 93 and still have the 92 type haness and programming.
and no i dont know why, but i have done dozens of swaps and found shit out the hard way the last 12 years.
my best advice is to never mix and match years if you have any questions as to what your doing.
if your posting a question here then your taking a chance/----- read you are already uncertain------ so i can assume you didnt already cross the codes and double check the actual harness setups....or it was an off the shefl computer and you have no way to verify the original harness setup..
some computers can actually work with more then one application as well.
