Will dual exhaust help?

I have a 92 Ranger wit a 4.0 LT V6 engine in and it already has a Gibson single pipe exhaust, and I was wondering if it would perform better with headers and any type of dual exhaust. If so how much do you think it would help?
 
headers will help....but a properly set-up single exhaust will perform about the same as a dual exhaust setup.
