axle swap info req...

ive got a 94 gmc half ton with IFS and i wanna put a solid axle...its got a driver side diff...what do i need to look for at junkyards....i dont care if i have to put one ton axles in it....im not putting a locker in my aluminum diff...thanks

find a solid axle out of a full size ford. that means F350s most years, watch out for Dana 50s. they are a bastard axle. no aftermarket support. any fullsize ford before 1980 will also work. 1980 and up 150s and 250s had Twin Traction Beam front axles.
