I have a 98 ranger, with cranked up torsion bars, and keep pulling the bottoms off of stock length shocks. I currently use napa reflex shocks, but they don't have a longer option.
So, whats a good gas shock thats 2" longer than stock?
Looking for reasonably tough shocks, this truck gets used pretty hard.
Thanks
Chris

I looked for a longer shock for my bro in laws truck, we did the 2 inch crank and put 265 75 16s on it. I coldnt find a shock for a 2 inch lift. I was thinking of jackin it up and space down the stock one until the tire has 2 more inches of downtravel.

Front Shock Extension's

Check Out http://www.totalperformanceonline.com/, they
have some decent looking shock extension connectors, that are
cheap and may help a lot of us, I plan on getting a pair.
They have them for standard and metric thread.

You sure you have them cranked to 2"? I've rarely heard of this issue in 98+ Rangers. Even before I put in my Bilsteins, the stock shocks never got ripped off even at full extension.

Remember, you're not increasing the distance of the lower control arm from the upper control arm per se, you're just increasing the preload on the bars to increase the angle at which they operate. The stock shocks were designed to handle the full range of motion. As such, you shouldn't be having an issue since you're just increasing the operating angle within factory suspension range.

You must be overextending your suspension somehow.
