Well F-100 ranger xlt.

it's a 1970 model. Factory 360 bb auto trans long bed reg cab. Picked it up with a solid frame and body for 800. It has a new transmission with warranty.

They said it was running too rough to drive.... so 2 spark plugs and an exhaust gasket later in their driveway I drove it home and did a few smokey burnouts so I'd have a seat of pants comparison going from a 145 hp 260 lb ft to whatever I'm creating......

In the garage now with motor coming out. Finally!!! Something i can work on without having to ask for advice or help!!!!!

It's getting a mild 1,800 stall
teeny tiny 1100 cfm Holley
headers
Edelbrock Carb
bored .30
stroked out to a 445
Aluminum heads
crane cam
flat tops
Electric Radiator Fans
a few other doodads like posi and slapper bars

For those of you interested in fit and finish.... I'll be removing all the trim, sanding and going to flat black......... replacing various select pieces of trim and saving the rest. I hate to be cliche' but gun metal torque thrusts and as much rubber as i can stuff under her is in order.

However..... it will be in old tan and factory wheel dress for a short time with the choking factory exhaust (which may not do a very good job hiding the loping idle) just to freak some people out with the old man truck sleeper.

For those of you that don't know.... I sold my drag car, all my broncos, my black ranger, and traded my white truck for a mazda protege' that gets 32 mpg and i gotta say I'm really needing something fast and loud in my life again. I think this should do the trick.

Hope everyone is doing well...... been busy saving money, because when i start a project I like to do it all at once do it right go big and be playing as soon as possible.

Usually when I hear of running dual 4bbls it's two of the same carb. You trying something new here?

Dad's got a 68 4x4 F-100 wearing a 70 body. His has the Factory 390 except with better thunderbird top end components. He no longer uses the truck and it's been sitting in the back yard for at least 5 years untouched. I was planning to rebuild the truck someday to use as my hunting truck but the body is too far gone. More recently I've decided I may try to find a 2wd short bed to restore, then rebuild the engine with fuel injection and a more modern transmission into. I'd then I'd surprise dad with it as Christmas or birthday present. These days they travel too much to have a use for something like that though.

Look forward to seeing your progress, and pictures. I think the bump sides are my favorite body style of the full size Fords.

edelbrock intake........ Body is solid.

I'm not a big picture guy.
Been on hold this week.
Radiator is out hood is off, engine is coming apart enough to get it out and have it bored.

I've got some stacks on order...... side dump in front of tires 4in diameter 6.5 feet of chrome leg burners.

Been too hot at work to feel like doing much afterwards. Hopefully get it all unbolted and engine on motor rotator this weekend.
