So I am ready to redo the brakes in the B2 I just bought. I have never jacked it up before so I did some research. I did read the Chiltons manual and searched this forum. I got 16 pages of results. I went through all posting that seemed to apply. This seems so basic but some of us still need more info. Maybe a write up for the tech library would be worthwhile.

For me I have a HF jack and two ton stands. They work great for my other car but I have to put the jack and stands on wood to get it high enough. This seems like a bad thing. I am going to go get new jacks and stands.

Ok now a quick question, once I get it on stands I will still have a lot of droop. Will I need to jack under the shock bolts to level out the spindels to work on the brakes?

Thanks. Rick

Put the stands under the axle just inside each wheel, it will not droop, it will sit at roughly where it does when it is on the ground.
You will only droop if you put stands under the frame, your stands should lift fine under the axle unless you have really big tires.

You can't get to the axles with the wheels on?

Are your stands not adjustable?
