What would it take

My first truck was a 1983 Ford Ranger. When my first child was born I sold it and bought a 1993 Ford Explorer. Sadly Ford will stop making the ranger on December 22, 2011.

I am looking to buy a new vehicle and the F150 is overkill for my needs. I'm wondering what would it take for Ranger fans to buy a new ford truck. My list is as follows
* Crew cab - real back seats
* Ecoboost - Maybe a 2.5L Direct Injected, turbo charged 4 cylinder.
* Decent box - atleast 6 feet, preferably 8 feet with a bed extender.
* The ranger look - IMHO - 2011 rangers look great, keep up the great work!
* Towing capacity - MINIMUM 4500LBS - Prefer 6500LBS.

What would it take for you to buy a 2013 Ford Ranger?

Ecoboost
6-Speed
Compact size
Classic styling
Bench seat
28 MPG highway
And a really nice discount for College students

Also If they put the 6CYL Powerstroke in one i would take that in a heartbeat but im not in any position to buy a brand new truck right now

But i think if Ford made a 1Ton Ranger like toyota did in the 80/90s is think it would be a hit especially is there was a crew cab option

Not to be a bummer but the new ecoboost F150 (in my eyes) is in every way better than my 05 4.0L Ranger. More power, better fuel mileage, more hauling capacity in cab and in bed, and just an all around solid truck with some balls! To me, the only advantage a ranger has is in a tight parking lot or a wooded trail. And lets be honest, no one in their right mind would roll out a brand new pickup and run wide open through the rough. lol

The ecoboost F150 I test drove even seemed to handle better than my Ranger.

The F150 ecoboost is awesome! but it is way overkill for my needs. I want a scaled down version. Not as wide (easier to park in urban areas), lower purchase price, even better fuel economy...
