i've done that lots too.i've also built plenty of engine-specific test stands, couldn't be bothered to make a universal one.

i did not want to be the one to break his heart:D

sawzall many a c6 bell to start a 460 on the stand...

What i was thinkin makein something to mounth a bell houseing to.I was thinkin bulid a frame outa some angle and than take some tubeing to make a "slider" for for the engine mounts lockabe acourse...Ill draw some pics up and see what you guys think. Allso kinda like to have this hting to test a lot of engines I get befor i sell em off.

we sell hundreds of engines a year at work (anywhere from 1.6L GM Brazillian engines to 8.1L GM engines) and ALL of them are ran on fairly simple pallets just sitting there...

its easy enough to do if you really want to.

but its so easy to floor start them propped with tires etc i would not waste the space or time. if i was dealing with engines regularly i would for sure have 2 or three of them. but i dont have the need or time for things i dont need.
