Found a sploder for 500 the tranny is bad but thats it. Heard that the motor will bolt up to a 2.9 tranny?

Yeah, it will bolt up fine. But the 4.0 typically shreds any tranny (with the exception being the not-so-common M5OD that came behind the 2.9L) that came behind the 2.9.
But, I did run a FM145 behind a 4.0 for a while and it did fine..just be easy on the throttle.

I thought there was more to what the swap required. Should work good as long as you use a 4.0 clutch.

disciplerocks is running an fm146 on a 4.0.....he's wheeled it a few times and it's still holding up.

It will bolt up. It will also blow up. Eventually.
The FM's use a weaker bearing design and the torque from the 4.0 beats against them and ruins them quickly.
