94 explorer overheating?

Ive got a 94 explorer that keeps trying to get hot that i cant figure out why. Its got a new 180* t-stat in it i've back flushed the radiator and it still trys to get how. but when it is getting hot if you spray the radiator with the water hose it will cool back down. Does that mean the fan clutch is bad? Or and other ideas?
 
Try and turn the fan by hand, does it turn easily or free-spin, or is there resistance to it?? If it free-spins or has very little resistance, than it needs to be replaced. When you spin it, it should stop as soon as you let go of the blade...

ok turned it and when you let it go it spins a little maybe 1/2 a round still. but my f_150 stops just like you said u let it go and it pretty much stops right then maybe goes an inch. So its bad then right?
 
I would get a fan clutch...While your at autozone getting your clutch, go ahead and get the tool for removing fan clutches. They have a loan-a-tool program, you leave a deposit for the tool, but you get it back when you bring the tool back. Will save you a bunch of headaches to get this tool :icon_thumby:
