I've been a long time lurker here, over the years I've owned quite a few fords:

99 4x4 3.0 Ranger
01 2wd 4.0 Ranger
03 4.2l F150
06 4.6l F150
07 5.4 F150

I've just ordered a 2011 FX4 F150 and I'm eagerly awaiting it's arrival. In the meantime needed something as a backup to my motorcycle so I picked up this 01:

01 4.0 4x4 with 171,000. Interior and exterior are like new. Appears to have a small body lift on it, billet grill, cold air intake, and tonneau cover. Found it at a used dealership in Atlanta for $4900.

Needs a new horn, fan clutch (or efan, let the debate begin) and an oil pressure sensor. When the new F150 shows up this'll be backup for a bit before getting passed on to my soon to be 16 year old son.

That's a nice looking truck. I like the tires too. You should get your son on here so we can see what he does to it later.

yea ^^ and make sure he takes care of it and appricates it and doesnt tear it up. thats a real nice truck. haha i wish i had a dad to get me a nice truck (or at least help me work on it). is it stick?

no way.....if i was 16......and that was my dads truck and i was working towards owning it....it would run away when it sensed the time was near.....

if it were in my yard it would be quivering in fear of the fun times i had planned...

but after some work....it would be begging for more...it is a ranger....so i know it will take a ridiculous amount of abuse.

Nope, automatic. I was looking for a stick because that's how I learned (and how everyone should learn), but this was a good deal and couldn't pass it up. He'll appreciate the truck and take care of it (or else), but right now he's focusing on his motocross lifestyle...bikes are more important than trucks at the moment.
