I am planning on pulling the 2300 out of my 1990 Ranger to swap into an old Jeep. The Jeep currently has a carbureted Pinto engine. The '90 is still a strong running engine with 348,000 miles on it. I am looking for info on what wiring I need to pull for this swap. Also can I use fuel tank/pump components from an '83 Mustang with the '90 2300 injection system?

You cannot use the carburetor fuel system to run an EFI engine. Not enough pressure. You will more than likely have to swap all of the under hood and in cab wiring to get a reliable running swap.

Not sure why you'd go through this much work to swap in an engine with 350K on the clock into a jeep.....? Whats wrong with the ranger? Whats wrong with the carbureted Pinto engine in the jeep?

I find this kind of ironic. You say the jeep has a pinto engine right now, but the 2.3 is part of the ford engine family called the "Pinto" family. linky
