im changing from 4.10 gears to special order 3.08,need to know what its going to take to get speedo working right (electronic speedo)

Nothing. The speed sensor is on the differential. You'd only need to mess with it if you start changing tire sizes. When the time comes you'll have to reprogram the psom (programable speedometer and odometer module)

Dunno about the bigger guys, but the new '97-98 F-150's were still driven by a gear in the trans. It was electric but still gear driven. It wasn't until '99 they went to reading off the rear axle, I can't see them updating the old bodystyle before the new for '97 F-150... but they have done stranger things.

My '92 f150 and my '95 f250 both read off the rear end.
