Hey guys, I'am out here in Washington state. Was told this is the place for all things Ranger! Just recently aquired a 86 extended cab 2wd, 4cyl, 5sp. Its bone stock and looking to transform it into a fun offroad truck with a long travel suspension of some sort? Thanks, Eric :headbang:
 
Welcome to TRS Eric...I'm sure it's been done and there are probably a ton of pictures on here of various builds...I was considering making mine into a 4wd vehicle but decided against it...for now...mine is the extended cab with the 120" wheelbase...but I think I'd prefer the shorter wheelbase for offroad...just seems to have more flexibility in terms of climbing over things...whereas a longer frame gives you too much space to get hung up on things...just my thoughts...and I'm sure someone on here with a longer wheelbase can chip in to say why I'm off base on this...lol
 
Thanks Mark, I'am building the truck to be more of a desert truck to go pound around in. Not so much a crawl around guy, more of a haul as through whoops kind of guy.:D The info here is immense so I gots lots of reading to do!!!
