I'm swapping a 9" into the back of my truck. I'm running into issues with the pinion yoke on the 9" and my stock drive shaft.

Here's what a guy on FSB told me:
On the 9 inch i put in a ranger,I took the bolt on piece from the ranger shaft and removed the u-joint and put on a 1310-1330 conversion u-joint with the stock 9 inch yoke. That was a 93 ranger

Does this sound legit?

Here's my stock driveshaft set up w/ my 8.8. Just so my terms are right, this is a strap set up right?
Drive shaft / pinion yoke / part number questions

Can some one point me in the right direction. I'd really like to not have to buy a new drive shaft yet.

Thanks,
Adam

No I don't think that's a strap set-up. I think a strap set up would be what you would find on the front end (TTB anyway, I know you're IFS) with the little... well straps, that hold the caps to the yoke.

Thanks Sunk. I'm currently getting my ass schooled in drive shafts and u joints and yokes adn things of the sort.

yes you should be able to take off the back of you shaft and get a conv joint to fit the yoke on the 9 inch

thanks guys. i found the spicer part.

Sweet.

As soon as the winter's over i'll be ready to cut her apart and get this swap under way!

All those driveshaft components were made in Marion In. Except for the joints that is.

After this year they will all be made in MEXICO.
