How Do I Tell Which Tank Is Working..

..In my dual tank ranger. I put gas in the rear tank and had the selector set to the rear tank, but it's reading empty on the gague so either the sending unit is bad in that tank, the gague is stuck reading the front tanks sending unit, or the pump in the rear tank is dead and its not even flowing from that one...

just wondering how i tell which one, or if both are working! :icon_confused:

Sender is probably shot. Its a common issue on 1st gens. Especially these days with them getting old and such.

The best way to tell for sure is to run one tank dry and then switch to the other tank, see if the engine dies. It's not great for the pumps, but it will get you your answer.
