hey guys new here, looking for a new truck give me your opinions, im either going for ranger (04/05) or toyota tacoma (2000-2002) because they are higher priced i must get an older tacoma if i get one, convince me of your opinions please, im going to be using the truck for camping hunting not insane 4x4ing but some good hillclimbs etc. i hear tacoma's are tougher but rangers are cheaper to buy and fix, but tacoma's dont break as much, i've driven both, quite similar trucks, anyways let me know! thanks!

If you live in the good old rust belt then I would stay away from the tacoma. The frames rot pretty quickly!

You can't really go wrong with either, but the yota will rust faster and the dohc motors get shit for mileage in those things. Ranger's don't really get the best mileage but it won't rust out so quick. i would look for a low mileage 02 ranger then use the money you saved not getting the 04/05 to get some after market stuff.
