Alright, I've got an 87 Bronco II. today, I went to pick something up from a friend really quick, so I park on the side-ish of the road, put it in neutral, set the brake, and dash into his house. I come back out, and I can't drive away.

So, we jack it up, and find that the driver side brake is stuck. So, we pound the drum off with a hammer, and back the self adjuster off a bit, and it was able to spin around again. Now, normally, I would have taken the time to thoroughly look around, but I was kind of out in the road, and I wanted to get out of the way.

I did poke around a little bit though. I found that the cable that runs back along the frame is way loose. So, I tried to jiggle the cable around where it entered the drum, and nothing happened. the other thing I noticed was that when I pulled on the adjusting lever, it didn't actually spin the star wheel

Any suggestions of what I should be looking for when I get a chance to look at it again after work tomorrow?

Also, there is not water freezing it in place. It was 80 degrees out today.

Had the same problem a few months ago. The rubber sheath/cover had worn through in a few spots revealing the metal inside and it all rusted together. I've been told that spraying some WD-40 between the cable and the sheath will help loosen anything caught inside. I needed a permanent solution and replaced all of the cables.

I'm not that familiar with the 87 drum brake config but I'd check the springs and make sure they haven't snapped or stretched too far. I'd also check the parking brake lever bar and its spring, to make sure it hasn't slipped out of place or broken.
