first of all i am new here , hi everybody. i have done numerous carb'd ranger conversions before but i am actually doing one for myself this time and i want to go efi. what has anybody used to lengthen the fuel lines so they will fit a stock mustang style intake fuel rail ?. i have a 4.0 now, and my lines look like they have a connector down at the frame near the steering rag joint. then they go to braided lines which screw into the rail on the 4.0 . will 97/98 explorer lines hook into that joint?. are they long enough ? or are people using / doin something else. the mustang lines run on the passenger side of the car so i cant use those unless i fab up something to run it to the other side of the truck. this is keeping me from pulling the 4.0 out until i get these little details worked out. my truck is a 94 splash. can anybody help ?. thanks. scott.

I would think the Explorer lines and rails will work. Make sure you have the rails with a regulator, later ones did not have it.

My Ranger braided lines would not come apart at the frame for love or money. So we cut and lengthened the hard lines from the fuel filter forward. Went up to the engine crossmember, across, then a short section(s) of soft high pressure line, then into the the Mustang hardlines and connected to the Mustang fuelrails.

i just finished getting my fuel lines done. for the return side i was able to unbend the steel line that came with the engine and rebend it towards the driver side. for the other line i got some of the springlock fitting at the junk yard than went to oriellies and got some fuel injection hose, cost 20 total for it all.

Aeroquip socketless hose and fittings. Not cheap, but great system and very easy to use.

thanks guys, i really appreciate the help, and the input. scott

You should be able to use your stock fuel lines on the frame and then get a Explorer fuel line set up and just plug it all in like factory. That is the way I did my 94 V6 to V8 conversion. Looks all factory stock.

I used the lines from my donor vehicle with no problems.

Anyone ever flip the Mustang fuel rails around? Does it work? (As the Explorer fuel lines connect at the DS rear of engine)

Wish that connection on the framerail was not FUBAR, as I eventually ended with Explorer rails/lines in the shop.
