I have an '89 Ranger, 2.3l, 5spd that I use as a daily driver. After driving it and getting out of the truck I noticed a big puddle of antifreeze under the engine. Upon further inspection the problem happens to be a a pinhole leak in a metal tube behind my engine. Picture looking down at the engine with the hood up. On the left top side of the engine there is a coolant hose off the water pump going into a 'T'. One of the hoses off the T goes to the heater core. It is not this hose. Now, the other hose off this 'T' runs along my valve cover on the left side and clamps onto a piece of metal tubing at the rear of the engine. This tubing goes around the back side of the engine and goes into another piece of hose right above the oil filter on the driver side. It is the actual metal tubing that has rusted through and is now leaking. What I was going to do was replace the whole thing with hose. I have called everywhere and you cannot get the specially bent metal tubing. Has anybody ever done this repair before. How hard is it to get to the hose above the oil filter. Please let me know.
