I own a 2000 Ranger, and have been absolutely in love with it ever since i bought it. One problem reared its head today though. as i was driving, i happened to notice the reflection of my daytime run lights in the car in front of mes bumper, and saw they were flickering. i parked at the next service station, checked all of my fuses, turned it off, started it again, repeated, etc, trying to find anything else that was out of the ordinary, but came up empty handed. the problem goes away if i turn on my headlights, and the battery level is well within normal range. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check the connections, and relay for the daytime running lamp circuit. Something is probably loose causing your flicker.

I just found the module, followed the wiring up and didnt find any issues. does this mean i must purchase a new module?

Have your alternator checked @ bench test-
(It has an internal regulator)

I am going to guess a bad ground.

Mine used to do it really bad, during my swap I found that one 10ga wire grounded my cab to the engine block (and thus to the battery) Check the ground on the DRL module.

I've seen bad DRL modules cause this exact issue.

Yup, the earlier model escapes are really bad for this as well... Almost looks like an LEO's wig wags goin down the road.

it's funny, my escape start doing that this week. I think I should go check my DRL module to see how everything looks there.

And anybody here found your trouble? ground or module?

I've check that this morning, and it seems to only be a fuse in the hood fusebox which wasnt correctly insert. Probably because of all the dirt road i have rolled last week. :icon_thumby:
