bearing noise in tranny

when my tranny is cold, it sometimes makes a squealing noise, when the clutch is first engaging from a stand still. it's not very often, just when cold and it typically goes away. how bad is this?
 
Are you sure it's the transmission? 'Cause that REALLY sounds like the clutch, if it does it only while the clutch is slipping. There might be a bit of glaze on the disk or somesuch. I wouldn't worry about that except as a warning to keep an eye on other problems, especially if the clutch EVER slips (or keeps slipping) with the pedal up. That means you need a clutch job.
