How safe is the first generation Ranger? I couldn't find any test results, possibly (and kinda certain) that none were ever done.
As far as I saw after a brief inspection was this: No crunch zones, unsafe seatbelts, and overall death trap.
I was going to replace my seatbelts with something from an F150 or a newer Ranger. Has anybody done this? and how can you hook up the new seatbelt to the old wiring?
Also, I know I am 100% for airbags, but whats the next best idea, next to replacing the seat belt with something newer?
My idea was to reinforce the B-pillar with some black pipe or heavy tube steel. (making a roll-cage basically, just from one side of the cab, over the ceiling, and down the other side, and then back and down the C-pillar).
Or is all of this bullcrap and I should just drive asis and hope to god some miserable facktard doesn't pull out in front of me or side me good?
