Anyone running an aftermarket cam with the explorer computer ? Im seeing they dont like Fords ABC cams .

How much cam do you want ? The stock F4TE roller is only slghtly less than the HO roller. 1.7 rockers wlll bring the lift specs up to .445/.473. The advertised duration is 256/266 with a 116 LSA.

I'd go with the rockers.

Unlike the old days a cam is one of the last modifications needed for more HP. Stock Ford cams are good to at least 400HP and you won't need to start messing with ECMs.

It's the LSA than 114 degs that the Explorer cam doesn't like. I think even some people with the '95' Mustangs see the problem. Might want to look at Comp Cam XE264HR-14 or the different ratio rockers as mentioned.

How much lift can you get, before valve clearence issues, on a stock 99-01 explorer 5.0?

It's not just the lift but also just as important are the timing events. But typically the stock pistons are good with up to about a .520 lift cam.
