nope has to be an 1988 or newer to make it work maybe time for a hurst kit, the best upgrade i have ever made

And on your 1989 your being able to fit a hurst depends on which specific transmission you have.
On a 2.9 you can have either a Mitsubishi (no aftermarket shifter) or a Mazda (which you can buy a Hurst for)
