Bed Compatibility

Does anybody know what are the years that beds are interchangeable? More specifically I found a great deal on an almost perfect 92 bed with tailgate. The one on my 88 has a few days of bodywork before it's sweet and the tailgate is crap.
These are both short beds and styleside 6' beds. Can I just drop the 92 on the 88?

IIRC, 83-92 beds are interchangeable and the body lines will match. I want to say that newer beds (93+) will bolt on, but IMHO, they look stupid on an older truck.

And for the record, ALL 93+ beds will interchange and the body lines will match. Cabs have changed some since 93, but a 2010 bed is the same as a 93.

Thanks lil_Blue_Ford. I'm going to buy this then for my V8 88. This bed was a company take-off when new to put a work box on. The truck is now worn out and long gone but the bed is basically brand new on a pallet in the back of their work yard.
