good trade???

well i decided to trade my ranger prerunner for another ranger.
i have a 1989 (2nd gen?) ranger prerunner that im trading for a stock 1987 (1st gen) ranger extra cab 4x4 with flomaster. to make it more even i cut off my prerunner bumper and spare tire rack. is this a good trade??? has anyone ever made their 4x4 into a prerunner type truck? or should i just keep it stock and fit the bumper and tire rack on my 82 s10?

What motors are in the trucks, transmissions, miles? Do you have pics?

both are 2.9 v6 5 speed. my miles are unknown (no odometer) his odometer reads 3xx,xxx but it has a rebuild so im guessin it cant have more than 150,xxx? my truck is my avi. but i pulled off the hellas an the bumpers, no pics of the other 1 but its a red '87 4x4 with a plexiglass rear window

so wat do u think??? and what about the s10 idea?

Sounds like a decent trade to me. Why the Plexiglas rear window (out of curiosity)? As far as moving your bumper to the S-10...... I think Ranger's look A LOT better in Pre-Runner giddy-up than an S-10.

plexiglass rear window cause he broke it and didnt have the money for a new window. rangers do look alot better as prerunners (i have one) but idk about a 4x4 prerunner... what i was thinkin waz leave the ranger stock for work and school (a lil dezert play with the 4x4) and since i got an s10 just make it my "keep me busy" project i thought it would be kinda kool after all its the first year they made the s10(1982) and its a 2.8 v6 4 speed (i wont ever own another automatic) but im 17 so what do i know haha

Nothing. Keep the Ranger and trade the S10 for the other Ranger. Now you have your 4x4 Ranger and your Prerunner Ranger.

Have you guys even seen the abortion of a pre-runner he owns?

I REALLY suggest you dump it quick, and do your own build. Sell the s-10, do the trade, and use the money from the s-10 to fix up the Ranger real good.

Not to insult you, but I read your threads, that truck isn't safe to jump. I don't like seeing people get hurt.

From what gribly says, you should jump at the chance to get out of your Ranger. I vote 4x4 prerunner. Lookup a user "simonsays" to see what you can do with a built 4x4 prerunner, he has a thread in the show off your truck subforum. Then sell your S10 and pickup another Ranger or Bronco II for DD use (I say Bronco so you'd have 4 seats to carry friends).

ya that prerunner scares me... i want the 4x4 for a dd and have a 2wd to turn into a prerunner... ill see about trading the s10 for a ranger or sellin it and buyin another ranger. but i doubt it. s10's are 1200-1500 and rangers are 2000- 10,000

It looks like your truck has glass fenders, I know they ain't cheap... I would buy another second gen outright, switch the sheetmetal and sell the 2wd with factory steel.

a 4x4 pre-runner??? unheard of. that truck is B-E-A-utiful. i might just lift mine or leave it stock cause its gonna be my dd.

but i still got that s10. ill post pics and see what kinda hate mail i get lmao. i want a 2wd ranger project but the s10 will do if things dont work out
