Confused and Intolerant
I am removing the steering pump, got all the bolts off, the belt off, and now just realized I had no way of removing the pully wheel. I have the right size alan wrench, but I don't know how to hold the pully still. I have tried C-clamps and vicescrips.

How?

I am selling my steering pump and steering box for $70 to a friend. I might also throw in my alternator for an extra $20.

Oh gosh dude. You need a pulley puller. Its a pair of screws and a bearing nut with a pair of C-jaws and a collar. You screw the screw into threads inside that allan-head and then hold the main screw still while working back on the nut.

Try Autozone or Advance. They usually have one in the loaner set.

Yup, there's a tool to pull the pulley off and one to press a pulley back on.

Just don't press the pulley on backwards like I saw one person do on a brand new pump because there is no way to pull it back off then and the belt will not line up.
