I just rolled 100,000 on my 2001 ford ranger edge. Going to change spark plugs. Any thoughs on any brands of plugs or tips on removal of the old ones. the truck is stock. Also going to replace all fluids. looking forward to reading the feedback

They have never been out? Don't be shocked if head gaskets and a machine shop are part of your plug change. I would be soaking them with penetrating oil for a few days before I attempted to remove them.

Use what got you there. Motorcraft Platinum. Yea, just to be a little safe shott a little PB Blaster down the plug hole and let sit for a few Minutes. 100K will need more than plugs though. If you haven't changed them: air filter, pcv valve, fuel filter and with 100k go with wires.

put whatever ford reccomends you put in there and gap them to the correct distance and you'll be good to go.

use a spark plug socket that is the proper size and a ratchet

if it's anything like the plugs on the 4.0 in my EX, you'll need to go through the wheel wells to get the back plugs out

When I changed the plugs on my '91 at 184,000 miles, they were the originals. A few took a little bit of torque to get out but otherwise not bad.
