hi i have a 97 mazda B2300 aka ford ranger...lol and right now it is totally stock but i am currently tring to get it able to compete a little at the local drag strip im putting in a stage 1 or 2 cluthch soon and i want to make it positve traction by swapping for a ford 8.8 or somthing like that does anyone know the best way to accomplish this? i have been told to take the rear end out of a explorer and put it under there because they are positive traction but i thought there maybe a simpler way to do it any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

i own a 89 ford bronco fullsize not bronco ll could i put the rear end from it in the B2300 aka ranger?

get your ruler out and go look....if you can weld....you can make almost anything work

Welcome to the Station you two! Glad to have you with us. Warrior, if your Bronco has the 8.8 you could swap that in.Not sure if it has posi or not, but it would work. Check out the tech section, it will tell you all about axle swaps.

ok thanks for the advise rollin it is a 4x4 but im not sure if it is posi either how would i know that before i swap it? i know these question probably sound idiotic to some people but i have no knowledge of axles and rear ends at all also if i just go to a junk yard and buy a 8.8 outta an old car or truck how would i know if its is posi or L/S those are the same things right?
