I dont know how common or uncommon this is, but aparently it was very common on the 1984 ford ranger XLT.

Here's my horn


You push your turn signal in and it hits the horn.
 
yup, my '84 BII has that as well.

i think it was an '84 only thing across the ranger/b2 line
 
its interesting, but stupid as an idea, just think about it:

*car pulls out*
Passenger to Driver: "Quick! push the turn signal!"
 
I have seen it in use in other Ford vehicles as well... My brother used to own a Tbird, one of the big boxy ones from like 81, and it had that style horn.

My, ahem, Skoda had a horn like that too...it was a fun little car...

But, is that the only horn or is it secondary to the steering wheel horn?
 
the 83-84 Ranger had the horn that way. its the only horn they had
 
why do not you put a horn semi truck and a rope to ceiling installation

I made an installation of 3 horn on the front of the truck, spit- it papy

Bizarre. I never realized that the horn was not on the steering wheel on 83-84 models.
 
I remember when I invited adsm08 over during the summer, I old him to look for the horn and I had to point it out. he's the ford mechanic too =) obviously, it took me 3 months to find it, but still, akward placement it have
