New Member - 1st post - 3.0 to 2.3 swap (I know)

I've conducted extensive searches and can not find much info (2 post actually ) about putting a 2.3L into my 1993 extended cab 4x4 w/dead 3.0 - I realize it will be slow, but I really only need the truck for driving on the beach surf fishing. It looks like I can get the 2.3 real cheap and would like to know the best year to get for an easy swap - My truck currently has an auto/AL4D, but I'm going to get a 5speed for the 2.3. Apart from the truck being slow - Will this be a fairly straight forward drop in?

Should be a bolt in procedure. You'll need everything that touches the motor though, so wiring harness, computer, exhuast, MAF, etc will all need to be swapped with 2.3 stuff.

why not a 4.0 swap? lol

yeah, just get EVERYTHING from the donor. might have to do a little wiring adjustments.

I'll probably go this route when I get tired of getting passed by Yugos :yahoo:
