hey i have a 2WD ranger and i want to do a 3 inch lift over the summer. right now i am planning it out so i know what i will need. i plan on using blocks under the leaf springs in the rear but i dont know much about the front end. would i be safe putting stiffer coil springs in the front? and if i did do that would i need new shocks as well?

3in go with the Fabtech lift spindles. I have heard nothing but good things from the guys who have gone this route and Fabtech has the name to back up there products.
As for shocks I would highly recomend upgrading to a good set of gas shocks for the added lift. Will help with the ride and performance of your suspension.

i have an 01 also, and i was thinking of the same thing. i am not so fortunae as to be ale to just get new spindles - there's got to be a better/cheaper way!

There are more affordable spindles than the fabtech spindles, tsliftkit.com might have what your looking for

I also have a 2001 Ranger, and i've been thinking of lifting the front end, but with my extremely limited budget, i've decided to go for a billet grille and bed rails for this year until i can get enough money to pay for it.

i'm tryin out a Truxxx aftermarket torsion key and Pro Comp add a leaf kit for the rear...i'll let you guys know what comes of it....supposed to get 2.5-3.5" in the front and rear...if the front doesn't come up enough im just gonna give minimal crank to the torsion bars and get a little more cuz im also going with the Bilstein 5100's so even if i crank of the torsion bars the ride should still feel pretty good...we'll see!!
