Current problem- can't find a kit that I know will fit. Does anyone know what HU mounting kit will fit a '94 ranger?

Walmart had 2 kits for Fords, one only listed '83-'88 Rangers, and the other kit listed no ranger, but a '95-'08 B series and it didn't look like it'd fit anyways.

GAH!

The 94 has the GenII dash. You dont need a kit.

yeah, don't need a kit in gen 1's either... but walmart sells one?
i know they have the wiring adapter. but yea- no kit needed.

Yeah, they had two ford kits and the one marked "74-01 Ford/Jeep/Crysler" (whcih make me do a double take) listed a first gen.

Ironically, I just realised this on my own after cursing at the internet for not giving me the information I had wanted.

So basicly I just need the wires and im set then, right? I've never put in a head unit. (also, what all wires do i need besides the harness adapter if any?)

just the harness adapter, match the adapter's wires to the ones on the head unit, and solder and heat shrink them or use bullet connectors, or what ever and you should be good to go. oh and dont forget the antenna wire.

no you dont need to get one, it just plugs in to the back of the head unit separate from the wiring harness

Ah, I read that wrong somehow. Probably because my friend told me I may want to pick up some sort of small extention to help the antenna wire fit, so I had that on the mind.

you should be fine without one, i had a fair amount of slack in mine

I assumed it would.

Luckily, I will only be assistant head unit installer, my good friend Buck who has experience installing them is doing it.

all i can say is use the wiring harness adapter so you're not hacking the stock one.. lol
i hate when people do that then ask for help. but you have the wiring harness so, get to hooking!

Gotta wait for my head unit, speakers, sub and amp to arrive in the mail first. Then theres the truck, which I must sadly wait for it to get out a body shop so I can go to Hinesville to retrieve it. It's not damaged, just getting a touch up basicly, then it's being given to me :D

The antenna wire might be held back with a clip, you will want to unclip it if you do not have enough slack.
