Things have certainly changed considerably with r/c choppers in the last thirty plus years.

The electronics have come a long way over the last 10 years or so making the flights a lot less complicated. Of course the designs for the model have improved as well. I flew planes for a long time and helis are more of a challenge to fly in 3d and all orientations.

What's the weight of those things? The old Dubro Sharks weighed about twelve pounds (with the chainsaw engine) and seemed to have a mind of their own. They were scary to fly.

The largest one has a flying weight of about 5 lbs/2.25 kg. The smallest one is 1.5 lbs. / 0.7 kg. The 500 is somewhere in the middle of the two.

I'm new at the forum so I can't see the pictures. Though, its good to see other fliers around in different forums. I use my 06 mazda ranger to haul my trex 500 and the 600N to and from the field.
