I thought this was pretty interesting, The Global Ranger seems just like a Tacoma.. I dont like the Idea of a 4 door small pick up either. I like the Extra Cab, If I wanted a Mid Size Truck I would buy this but with an Extra Cab not a 4 door.http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2010/09/off-road-test-review-2011-toyota-tacoma-tx-pro.html
The Global Ranger is Plain just ugly... and to big for my needs of a Smaller Pick up.

I dont like the idea of losing even more bed for the extra cab space... If I need that kind of interior space, I wouldn't be looking at a small pickup.

Sure, the Global Ranger is close to the F150, but an F150 is a long ways from an extended cab Ranger...

Ya I mean I'd love to add 2 sideways facing seats but besides that I'm happy with the size of my truck.

I really like the global ranger. I wish they didn't discontinue the ranger, they should have redesigned the engine or put newer ones in it.

I vote to just keep buying gen 1 and 2 Rangers/BIIs forever. Problem solved =D! With the discontinuation of the ranger, and doing a bit of research, I would be looking at the 2.7 or 4.0 Taco. I hate to say it, but with no more production Rangers, I would keep them as toys and DD a Toyota.

There's a comment on the first link about calling it the f-100! That I like, then the ranger won't have to not be produced and kill jobs for 1,000's of ppl.

now, i don't think the killing off the ranger would put people out of a job... they are going to replace it with something, be it a global ranger, or an f-100, or even a cheaper, more economical f-150, the number of people buying ford are going to be roughly the same (if they kill it and only have a more economical f-150, the numbers will drop slightly) and that makes more demand for what ever "replaces" it, causing more of them to have to be made... so the thousands of people who would be laid off by the ranger ceasing to exist, would more in turn be reassigned to a different portion of ford production...

I wonder what kind of fuel mileage people are getting with that 2.2L Duratorq diesel engine. Man I wish that was available here.
