You can do either! After you build the engine up build all new heads! Low compression pistons for turbo. Not as low for the supercharger.
There pros and cons to both.
Turbo- pro, more power, nice hissing sound, and blowoff sneeze or chirp. con they lag
Supercharger- pro nice whine sound and lottts more torque than from a Turbo. Con you better have a damn good cooling system!
