so I think my axle housing is bent, recently did an 8.8 swap and now both rear tires are wearing only on the inside half of the tire, is there anything else that might cause this? and is it possible to straighten it

i've seen bent 8.8 housings before.

do you know the history on the diff?

while straightening it is possible,it'll be more involved and costly than just getting another one.

it came out of a 97 explorer from the scrapyard, looked like a stock street machine. I think I warped it a little welding the perches and tabs :annoyed: but it could've been like that I dont know. might just have to throw the old 7.5 back in there before my tires are completely ruined

Unless you got the whole thing glowing red and forged your new perches onto the axle, I doubt you did it welding the perches on. You just don't make that much heat over a large enough area during that process.

Does it vibrate?

I knew it was not possible to bend axles like that. I doubt ,Perhaps the solder is cracked

No, it's very possible to bend the axle tubes. I see it a lot actually.

Its just not very common on vehicles that have never had all four wheels off the ground at the same time, or have been exposed to extreme amounts of heat.
