You want to go with 4.56.

And ya, a 2.9, 3.73s, and 33s make for a pretty sluggish ride.

The 4:10's will be an improvement over the 3:73's of course but the ideal gears would be 4:88's. I have 33's on my Ranger, with the 4:10's your thinking of getting from me I can ALMOST use overdrive.

A better but more expensive route would be the Explorer rear axle and a Dana 35 front. I'm into mine for around $2,000 at this time but I have a Detroit.

ya my truck is a dog right now, going up the pass im doin 45 mph in sucks, i cant what to get them it will be better than whats in my truck now

im just going to use what im getting from you un till i gather all the stuff i need, the pass is going to be fun if we meet this weekend, is there snow over at your place blackdog.

if your on the highway often then dont get 4.88. 4.56 will suit you best.

No snow, was 45 degrees and sunny. Ya, use these axles till you got the money to upgrade. You should get all your money back when you sell the 4:10's.

I have 35s and 5.13s (same overall ratio) and it's dang near perfect on the 2.9 (and I have the FM146 that doesn't have quite as deep overdrive as a M5OD).

I wouldn't hesitate one bit at 4.88 and 33s.

ya i got the fm 146 in my truck too. thanks for the info guys and thanks blackdog for the hook up!
