My 84 2.8 keeps wearing out distributor gears. Could it be my oil pump, thats what a engine builder told me. what could be doing this. No mods to the engine, stock ignition, everything works great, no problems since i put the new engine in 6 years ago.:temper:

I was going to put a high volume oil pump in my engine but Summit Racing told me I would be wearing out the distributor faster because the pump runs off of the distributor and would now be pumping more oil. Maybe someone modded the oil pump and this is the end result?
