so I can get a recently rebuilt '85 2.8l with an even more recently rebuilt a4ld for 600$, my '87 a4ld and 2.9 are both in the process of grenading on me and as far as i know this will swap rather easily? just wondering if anyones done this before and if there are any major snags I might hit that would prevent this from working thanks - C

You would most likely be a 1st. Really, I cannot say if it can be done or not but I would think that with enough time and work it would work. If it would be worth it, that's up to you.

But you know whats coming....

4.0 swap!

It would be worth an engine swap if you really need or want to do one. If you could find another 2.9 that would be the easiest by far.

yeah i know haha Ill have a long block in this thing one day :D but its mostly just because i can get a newly rebuilt one in a parts truck thats been rolled for 600 bucks and my 2.9 has 300k on it and a HEAVILY tapping lifter so im gonna try it out and see, going to look at it this afternoon
