Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. Please move this to the correct forum if its in the wrong one!

Does anyone know anything about putting a dodge 318 in a Scout II? i know that the scout II has the 727 transmission but it cant hook up to a dodge engine. What would have to be done in order to do this?

anyways, again, im sorry if this is in the wrong forum!
 
you would at the least have to make or have made an adaptor plate, you would also have to use the fly wheel+clutch/ flexplate+tc for the 727 if this swap is possible. It would be easier to just get a trans that bolts to the 318, and make a new tranny cross member, and driveline

The 727 is a Mopar transmission. I have built a lot of small block Cudas 273, 318, and a 360 that all had the 727 trans in it. I swapped all of them later to a 4 speed trans. Go to www.transpartsonline.com and see if they can give you a hand with your needs.
